-
Gather the main Leaders of our associated Churches and Ministries for an overnight once a year again to hear what’s on each other’s hearts, what’s going on and to pray with and for each other.
-
Meet with leaders in Northern Ireland on a regular basis.
-
Encourage potential young leaders to fulfil their calling in God through meeting together three or four times annually.
-
Take part in the annual Plumbline Leaders’ Conference with the wider Plumbline Family from England, Scotland, France and other nations.
-
Seek where possible to have good relationships with other Christian Churches realizing that Plumbline isn’t the answer to Ireland but pray we are a part of the answer and to be faithful in fulfilling our part
A Bit About Us
Plumbline Ireland was birthed through a connection in 1988 between Graeme Wylie (then Senior Pastor of Galway Christian Fellowship) and Simon Matthews (then Senior Pastor of Huntingdon Community Church and Founder of Plumbline UK). Galway were the first church to officially join the Plumbline family in 1992. Since then new Churches have either been planted or joined the Plumbline family in Kilkenny, Carlow, Arklow, Athlone, Lurgan & Newry. In recent years the Irish churches and ministries have developed their own core team distinct from the UK body. Plumbline Ireland is registerd with the Charities Regulatory Authority RCN 20154639.
Over the years a number of ministries have also joined the Plumbline Ireland family: New Life Ministries (Lurgan), Grace Ministries (West Mayo), Inspire Ministries (Ballymena), Hope Trust (Athlone), LINAP (Philippines) & Harvest France (Toulouse).
What We Believe
-
The one true God who lives eternally in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
-
The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.
-
The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God – fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.
-
The dignity and equality of all people, created in God’s image to care for creation and to live in love and holiness.
-
The universal sinfulness, guilt and lostness of all people as a result of the Fall, making them subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.
-
The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, born of the virgin Mary, fully God and full man, yet without sin.
-
The substitutionary atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross as the only and all-sufficient ground of salvation from sin, defeating Satan and reconciling people to God.
-
The bodily resurrection of Christ, His ascension into heaven, His victorious reign and continuing mediation as the only Saviour of the world.
-
The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ, and that the repentant, believing sinner is cleansed from sin by the blood of Christ, regenerated by the Holy Spirit and given the gift of eternal life.
-
The ministry of God the Holy Spirit in leading us to repentance, uniting us to Christ in new birth, indwelling our hearts, sanctifying our lives, empowering our witness, anointing us and imparting His gifts for Christian service.
-
The Church, the body of Christ, both local and universal, comprising all who have been given life by the Spirit, called to worship God and commissioned to proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel of the Kingdom, making disciples of all peoples.
-
The priesthood of all believers and the offices and ministries set by God in the New Testament Church, including Christ’s ministry of healing and deliverance.
-
The divine institution of baptism of believers by immersion in water and the Lord’s Supper as a remembrance of Christ’s death and His covenant with His people.
-
The personal, visible, victorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory to establish fully His universal reign, to resurrect all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and a new earth.
